It belongs to the sub-region\u00a0 of Haro, in the lower valley of Oja-Tir\u00f3n. Located at the foot of Mount Bolo, it is crossed by the river Tir\u00f3n, one of the seven rivers that originate at different points in the southern mountains of the region and flow into the Ebro, on the northern limit of La Rioja.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-045faf0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"045faf0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"font_7\" style=\"font-size: 21px;\">GEOGRAPHY<\/p><p class=\"font_8\" style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Cuzcurrita covers an area of 19.2 km\u00b2, is located 519 meters above sea level and at a distance of 51 km from Logro\u00f1o, the capital of La Rioja. In the certificate, &#8220;Senior Sancio \u00c1lvarez, from Coscorrita&#8221; appears as guarantor on the part of the \u201cinfanzones\u201d.<\/p><p class=\"font_8\" style=\"font-size: 15px;\">In the 14th century, on the 15 th November 1367, King Enrique II of Castilla granted the area of Cuzcurrita with all its properties and wealth to Don Juan Mart\u00ednez de Rojas. It was not until the 16th century, when the area was officially recognised, during the reign of Felipe II, by Don Pedro Velasco and his wife. Today, their weapons can still be seen, which are carved in stone at the entrance door to the castle.<\/p><p class=\"font_8\" style=\"font-size: 15px;\">During the Middle Ages, Cuzcurrita was a walled stronghold, which was part of a defensive line for the battles between the kingdoms of Castilla and Navarra. This Rioja Alta region was always a frontier land for which the different kingdoms fought.<\/p><p class=\"font_8\" style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Belonging to Santo Domingo de la Calzada district, it was part of the province of Burgos until the creation of the new Logro\u00f1o province in 1833.
